Nintendo DS3d

Priced between £175 and £229, the device isn't cheap when compared against Sony's Blue ray games console PS3, and Microsofts Xbox 360.

Initial games releases are:

Pilotwings Resort
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition
The Sims 3
PES 2011 3D - Pro Evolution Soccer
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
Ridge Racer 3D
Super Monkey Ball 3D
Samurai Warriors: Chronicles
Asphalt 3D
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell 3D
Rayman 3D

Whats new?

  • Widescreen 3D top screen displaying full 3D visuals
  • Cartridge slot is backward compatible, it plays DS Lite, DSi as well.
  • D-pad, four fascia buttons and two bumper buttons for traditional DS gameplay.
  • New pen-like stylus for comfy touch screen control.
  • Analogue stick for precise control.
  • Two digital cameras for taking 3D pictures.
  • Bottom touch screen for stylus-based interaction.
  • Motion sensor and gyro for tilt-based control.
  • 3D depth slider to toggle between 2D and 3D settings.
  • Wi-Fi online connectivity and new StreetPass system letting you connect with friends and download new content.

The battery however is only 4-5hrs in 3D mode, which is disappointing, so there is scope for this product to improve.

Launched on the same days as Ipad2 tablet computer, gadget fans will be having a bumper end to the week.
